PDF Tools

PDF is the format people reach for when a document has to look the same everywhere and be hard to edit by accident: contracts, invoices, medical letters, tax returns. It is also, for the same reasons, the format they are least comfortable handing to an unfamiliar server.

Image to PDF is the tool that is live here. It decodes each image, lays it out on a page at the size and orientation you choose, and writes the document out on your own machine — no upload, no round trip, and the finished file goes straight to your downloads folder.

The rest of this section is deliberately short, and the reason is worth stating. Reading an existing PDF is a much harder problem than writing a new one: real-world files use cross-reference streams, compressed object streams and a dozen encoding variations, and a merger that handles the simple cases and silently corrupts the rest is worse than no merger at all. Those tools are listed as planned rather than shipped half-working.
